OVERVIEW
Spearheaded by a generous donation by the law firm of Kline & Specter, the existing irregular racquetball courts in the basement level of the Daskalakis Athletic Center were demolished for the construction of new squash courts. The new courts would provide a home for the newly established varsity squash program at the university. The refurbished area boasts excellent viewing from an open mezzanine structure, including glass enclosures for each individual court.
Mainstay provided structural analysis in order to demolish a portion of the existing structural mezzanine, design of cantilevered steel framing system for the court side walls, and design of the stadium platform seating area.
