Lidl Regional Distribution Center

Fairless Hill, PA

1.2 Million sq ft

The project is a 1.2M SF, $200M warehouse and distribution center with 300,000 SF cold storage and 100,000 SF of dedicated freezer space. The facility is an insulated metal panel clad building at refrigerated areas and transitions to load bearing insulated precast concrete wall panels for the balance of the warehouse spaces.

The structure consists of steel columns and bar joist roof with metal decking. Administration services are housed on a mezzanine level conventionally framed composite steel and concrete floor system making up 54,000 SF in the core of the building. Maintenance and forklift charging stations are established beneath the administration mezzanine. The warehouse floor is an industrial high performance extended joint concrete slab of varying thicknesses based on applied storage and forklift patterns. Foundations are conventional shallow spread footings throughout the facility. Lateral stability of the building is provided by a combination of precast shear walls and steel braced frames.

A 600 car, two level precast parking garage is adjacent to the distribution center supported on shallow foundations.
