WEST-WARD PHARMACEUTICALS| DECADE BUSINESS CASE (BUILDINGS 34 & 35A)
OVERVIEW
West-Ward Pharmaceuticals expanded and updated its facilities to support its manufacturing and packaging resources. The existing infrastructure and buildings required modifications including building additions to augment and integrate the anticipated growth throughout the site as part of their 10 year masterplan. The project was completed in multiple phases with early engineering construction packages for the Packaging Building shell and site-civil scope, defined as Phase 1. The existing packaging building required a 53,400 SF expansion to house two new fill lines and associated support areas. Above the packaging levels, there was anticipated expansion for additional office space on the third level to match the existing adjacent packaging building. Phase 2 included the expansion of the facility adjacent to existing building 35, as a four story manufacturing addition for new production equipment.
Mainstay provided civil and structural design for two new buildings (B34 and B35A) as well as renovations to the existing facility as part of West Ward’s overall master plan for the next decade.
