700 UNION STREET | HOUSING BUILDING ASSESSMENT
OVERVIEW
Mainstay was engaged by Lammey + Giorgio (L+G) to perform a visual observation and assessment of the building façade at 700 Union Street in Allentown, PA and to identify and communicate physical deficiencies to the owner, Allentown Housing Authority, and prepare documentation outlining areas of deterioration and to recommend any necessary repairs.
The existing building is a 9-story concrete structure consisting of precast concrete floor and roof slabs and precast concrete wall panels supported on a cast-in-place concrete spread footing foundation system. From our inspection, it was evident that concrete deterioration as represented by spalling, cracking and separation was present throughout the entire façade or the structure.
